Raney Christian Club Meeting 2/9/10

Hello everyone, sorry for the lack in blogging, I've been busy. Anyways, this time, we couldn't get anyone in, but we got an amazing speech and group led by Mr. Maples. He had us write down our favorite Bible verses while he prepared, mine being Revelation 3:20. So he was ready, and now he was sharing about trust. He asked us to raise our hands if we had someone on this earth that we could trust with anything, then he asked us to turn to Proverbs 3:5-6, which reads, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." After that he told us to look to God for everything, for healing, for strength, and even for trust. Following and having faith in him is the key to everything. He then handed us a piece of scratch paper to write down everything we needed or wanted changed in ourselves, the club, or to anything else. I wrote loads, that really hit me when I looked at the page nearly full. We then got up, stood in a circle, and prayed for all of these things we had written down, taking turns and then having Mr. Maples close out the prayer. Ending a great day of Christian Club yet again. :)

By the way, everyone, I am designing a logo for the club and I want your opinion so far, here is what I have so far...

Please leave comments either on facebook or here to tell me whats good or what needs changing.

Raney Christian Club Meeting 1/26/10

We had a great meeting today, although it wasn't so formal because I shared the message today. It was a simple, short message. I just chose to read Matthew 19 : 16-26, which read, " 16Now a man came up to Jesus and asked, "Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?"

17"Why do you ask me about what is good?" Jesus replied. "There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments."

18"Which ones?" the man inquired.

Jesus replied, " 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, 19honor your father and mother,'[d] and 'love your neighbor as yourself.'[e]"

20"All these I have kept," the young man said. "What do I still lack?"

21Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

22When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth.

23Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

25When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, "Who then can be saved?"

26Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

I just dived in and said how you have to let go of everything and I compared the eye of a needle to a little speck on the white board. I said if you could imagine you having tons of money and living the good life, but then you were focusing on it more than God. Emily reminded me about how it should be in this order of importance, "God, Family, Friends, Ministry, Job" Then we closed out from there and began to discuss what we could do to help our club gross. We came to the conclusion that T-Shirts, Community Service, Candy Sales, and Beverage Sales would work out the best.

Also, I would like to announce that I chose Emily Hahn to be a new leader. Why? Because she is devoted to Christ, dedicated and enjoys our club, and seems like she has a mind that has endless ideas to help out our club.

Thank you.

Drew.

Okay.

So after all of this time Google searching why I couldn't post anything, I found out that it all had to do with me accidentally removing something from the HTML of the blog. I now know, DON'T MESS WITH THE HTML! So anyways, I am going to be sharing the message today at the Club so please pray for strength and passion throughout my message. Thank you.

Just Sayin.

Although Christmas is over I will keep the banner up until around March because it is winter.

Welcome Back!

Now that school has resumed we can now get back to action. I hope everyone had a great vacation, Christmas, and New Years. I read a verse today in James 5. It is verse 19 and 20 and those 2 verses read, "My brothers and sisters, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone turns them back, he should know that the one who turns a sinner back from his wandering path will save that person's soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins".

This is VERY IMPORTANT TO NOTE people! If you love your friends and you want them to join you up in heaven, I recommend remembering this verse. This is the verse that is a conscience booster or possibly an eye opener.

If you would like to see a video of a person receiving letters from his friend that he didn't tell about Jesus, please go on YouTube and look up 'Letters from Hell' by BereanBeacon.

Or you can watch it right here. (WARNING, MIGHT DISTURB SOME PEOPLE)
